A Veteran’s JOURNEY WITH CLRA
The holidays are an opportune moment to reflect on what we are grateful for. This season of giving, CLRA beneficiary and Chronic Myeloid Leukemia patient, Calvin shared his journey. “During this period of Thanksgiving, I give thanks to the Lord for my many blessings. Among my many blessings is the financial support I have received from an incredible non-profit organization; Children’s Leukemia Research Association/CLRA for over a decade. I am U.S.C.G. Veteran with a non-service connected medical condition, Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. Thus. I am ineligible for VA Care. Although, I am a Medicare patient the yearly out-of-pocket expense for my chemo-therapy medication is above $4,000, most of which is to be paid as I pick up my January prescription. Hooray, each year CLRA has provided me support through its Patient-Aid Program. CLRA, with its tremendously dedicated and caring staff is to be thanked during this period of giving thanks. But I also extend a sincere thanks to the many individuals and organizations who financially support CLRA. God Bless.”
